Global Career Launch is pleased to offer the exciting city of San Francisco as an option for your 6-week unpaid internship and cultural experience.
Located on the western coast of California, San Francisco is one of the most well-known cities in the United States. The city is famous for its large number of museums, Victorian-style architecture, wonderful nightlife, and diverse population. You can visit the world-famous Golden Gate Bridge, the infamous Alcatraz “Rock” Prison, and the vibrant Fisherman’s Wharf. While in San Francisco you could ride the iconic cable cars to your internship and take a trip to Los Angeles or New York over the weekend. It’s your summer and your experience.
Spending a summer living and working in the United States provides every participant with life-long memories and important professional growth. Over six weeks you’ll learn more about work-life and culture the United States. You’ll enhance your resume with an eye-catching American internship and have an interesting story to talk about during job interviews when you graduate from University!

* In case of Visa denial by the U.S. Consulate, all payments will be returned minus a $100 administrative fee. Proof of visa denial from the U.S. Consulate required (either letter of denial or denial stamp in passport).
GCL San Francisco group activities included in the 2010 program:
San Francisco Bay Lunch Cruise:
Cruise along San Francisco Bay taking in all of the sights! The arresting skyline of the "City by the Bay" includes the landmark TransAmerica Pyramid, Embarcadero Center's four "fingers", Alcatraz Island, and Coit Tower on Telegraph Hill. Sail under the magnificent Golden Gate Bridge while enjoying a full buffet lunch.
Major League Baseball Game
Take in the sights, sounds, and smells of the American national pastime of baseball. The experience is as much about the atmosphere and socializing as it is watching the action. Try a hot dog and put on your baseball cap as the Giants try for the win!
Carmel and Monterey Tour
The Monterey and Carmel tour includes a scenic trip down the coast on Highway 1 and the world famous 17 Mile Drive tm in Pebble Beach.
Sightseeing highlights: Highway One, Santa Cruz, Monterey, Cannery Row, 17 Mile Drive, Lone Cypress at Pebble Beach, Carmel by the Sea and return trip through Silicon Valley.
Free Weekend
This is your chance to independently travel, explore, and/or relax. You will have two free weekends (Including one 4-day weekend) to use as you please. You can use this time to explore other activities in your host city or you can travel to any other destination within the United States. Last year, students went to New York, Los Angeles, and Florida on their Free weekends! July 4 is a national holiday in the United States and travel is very popular on that weekend; please keep this in mind if you would like to travel. Your travel and activities for this weekend are not included in your program. You will be responsible for your own travel, accommodations, and activity costs.
