AIPT is always looking for employers interested in providing an unpaid internship to one or more students from China, Macau, and Hong Kong for the Global Career Launch Summer Internship Program. The internship should be located close to public transportation in the metropolitan areas of Atlanta, Chicago, San Francisco, or Washington, D.C.
Why host an intern?
Hosting an intern in the GCL program is simple. The internship you provide is unpaid and there are no program fees. As a J-1 visa sponsor, AIPT will ensure all necessary requirements are met – meaning no paperwork. AIPT will take care of everything from the intern's entry visa to their accommodations and transportation to and from work. In fact, the only commitments are a six-week placement corresponding to the dates listed for your city, clear and understandable tasks, and sufficient supervision to ensure the completion of assigned tasks.
Previous GCL interns have contributed by:
- Creating marketing portfolios
- Researching new firms for investments
- Helping companies transition from manual to electronic systems
- Accounting department assistance
- Hotel and event rotations
- Software and web design/support
The intern you choose can either be given support tasks under your current work process or they can be assigned a project to start or complete during the timeframe provided.
Intern Profile
Each intern will have finished at least one year of university study and will be continuing their education in the fall. The interns will come from universities in China and range in age between 19 and 26.
The GCL application process will determine suitable English language skills, strong ability to work abroad, and high academic achievement. A wide range of education backgrounds will be represented, including marketing, international tourism and hospitality, business, accounting, law, and computer science among others.
Selection Process
After having been approved to host an intern, you will be provided with a list of resumes to choose from. You may either accept an intern based on their resume or request a telephone interview. Once you have made your decision, the candidate has seven days to confirm your placement. AIPT will manage this entire process.
