Washington is a true international city that is as rich in history as it is in culture. The opportunity to learn and live in the nation’s capital affords students numerous perks and amenities, including easy access to world famous attractions and historical landmarks from the White House to the Washington Monument and Smithsonian museums on the National Mall. Students can easily immerse themselves in the American language and culture in a city that is both small and easily walkable, yet also serves as the multicultural hub of U.S. politics. Spending a summer living and working in the United States provides every participant with lifelong memories and important personal and professional growth.

This one-of-a-kind opportunity to live and work in the United States will not only set you apart in the global job market and enhance your career prospects upon graduating from university, but it will challenge and help you grow on a personal level.

Included in the program:

  • Six-to-eight week unpaid summer internships in your field of choice
  • Flexible timetable and the opportunity to receive academic credit allowing students to tailor the experience to best suit their needs and preferences

Spirit of Washington Boat Cruise
Quite simply, a spirit cruise is the perfect outing. A magical setting enhanced by splendid views of the nation's capital. An evening filled to the brim with wonderful cuisine, music, and dancing make this the ultimate D.C. experience. Come aboard and enjoy the most entertaining experience featuring our grande buffet! This two-hour cruise on Washington’s historic harbor is perfect for an afternoon getaway.

International Spy Museum
Welcome to the International Spy Museum and the world of espionage. Learn about the authentic tradecraft that has been used throughout time and around the world. Hear spies, in their own words; describe the challenges and the "game" of spying.

National Museum of Natural History
The National Museum of Natural History (NMNH) is part of the Smithsonian Institution, the world’s preeminent museum and research complex. NMNH is dedicated to inspiring curiosity, discovery, and learning about the natural world through its unparalleled research, collections, exhibitions, and education outreach programs.

National Air and Space Museum
The Smithsonian Institution's National Air and Space Museum maintains the largest collection of historic air and spacecraft in the world. It is also a vital center for research into the history, science, and technology of aviation and space flight, as well as planetary science and terrestrial geology and geophysics.

Six Flags America
The highly popular Six Flags park has a wonderful collection of thirteen coasters that includes everything from traditional woodies to a bone-rattling hypercoaster. Six Flags America features more than 100 exciting rides, slides, shows and attractions plus Hurricane Harbor water park – free with park admission.

Free Weekends
This is your chance to independently travel, explore, and relax. You will have two free weekends (including one four-day weekend) to use as you see fit. You can explore other activities in your host city or you can travel to any destination within the United States. Last year, students visited New York, Los Angeles, and Florida on their free time! The Fourth of July is a national holiday in the United States and travel is very popular on that weekend; please keep this in mind if you would like to travel. Your travel and activities for this weekend are not included in your program.
